Position Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for monitoring and maintaining all fixed asset related accounts.


  • Maintain the Fixed Asset subsidiary ledger, Fixed Asset subsidiary ledger interface with the general ledger and reconciliation between general ledger and subsidiary ledger

  • Monitor and maintain all Fixed Asset and related accounts including asset, depreciation, Gain/Loss on disposal and Asset retirement obligations

  • Specifically, but not limited to, FAS 141 Above & Below Market lease tracking and timely disposal of tenant asset based on closing/termination activities

  • Provide assistance with the Company’s Sarbanes- Oxley initiative where necessary

  • Provide required support for external and internal auditors

  • Prepare ad hoc reports upon request

  • Maintain and enhance internal customer service through reporting and process improvements as well as promotion of service oriented approaches within all functional responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience

  • Demonstrated experience with fixed asset accounting

  • JD Edwards experience

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and repairing/reviewing work papers supporting accrual-based general ledger information (i.e., in accordance with GAAP for audit)

  • Deadline-focused; organized; problem-solving skills

  • Experience with SOX controls and identifying/implementing accounting process improvements

  • Demonstrated written/oral communication and documentation skills

  • Intermediate-level excel skills

  • Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) experience

  • Other duties as assigned
