Job Description

Network Architect

As a Network Architect, you will design, upgrade and implement network solutions for our properties, corporate office, cloud and on-premise data centers. In this role, you will provide architectural oversight and the development of network solutions that will support our systems, applications and property IoT technologies, while adhering to best practices and exploring avenues to reduce operational costs.

You will be responsible for leading the network architecture and technical strategy requirements, developing solutions and implementing them across our enterprise. The engineering will focus on automation, resilient design and be security focused while aligning to our roadmap. You will lead with building and cultivating strategic long-term partnerships with vendors, internal teams and senior level stakeholders.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep technical understanding of network architecture, strong leadership capabilities, and the business acumen to communicate effectively across technical and leadership channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in translating business requirements into an integrated, reliable, and secure network roadmap reflecting strategies to support business applications by collaborating and consulting with diverse business and technical groups.

  • Produce business cases, project charters, roadmaps, and presentations to effectively communicate project goals, resource requirements, and anticipated outcomes to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Partner with Cybersecurity team to implement and support initiatives, policies and procedures to secure systems/data and remediate vulnerabilities within the organization.

  • Develop and implement automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and optimize resource allocation.

  • Collaborate with other technology and business leaders to deliver the best end to end technology solutions for the organization.

  • Mentor and help develop the skills of network engineers leading to career growth opportunities and fosters an environment that is designed to retain talent and increase employee satisfaction.

  • Establish and disseminate comprehensive guidelines and best practices for network architecture, security services, and cabling infrastructure.

  • Research new technologies and solutions through the establishments of demos, labs POC/POVs as needed.

  • Publish standards and best practices around network, security services and cabling.

  • Assists in budgeting, cost analysis, workflows, and product life cycle planning.

  • Participate in resolving network-related trouble tickets and communicating status and RCAs as needed.

  • Serve as a tier 3 escalation point for advanced networking issues as needed.

  • Occasional travel, estimated at 5%

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science/engineering or related discipline and at least one Cisco Network certification. CCISP, CCIE/CCDE preferred.

  • Demonstrated 8+ years of experience in the networking industry, 1+ years of experience as a network architect in an enterprise environment.

  • Extensive IT experience in a large enterprise environments and practical working knowledge of network architectural decisions, applications and designs, network security, firewalls and VPN and routing protocols.

  • Expertise in managing and optimizing complex distributed network environments encompassing multiple properties, ensuring seamless connectivity, scalability, and efficient data flow across locations.

  • At least 5 years with cloud-based datacenter environments (Azure, AWS) SD-WAN, IPAM, DNS, NTP, WAN Acceleration, Load Balance - F5Cloud Network Solutions (Azure Express Route, AWS Direct Connect).

  • Expertise in supporting relevant LAN and WAN hardware and software specifically:

  • Cisco (9000 series switches, Nexus switches, DNA/Catalyst Center)

  • Meraki (firewalls, switches, APs)

  • Aruba (APs, ClearPass, Airwave, Mobility Conductor)

  • Palo Alto (Global Protect VPN, Prisma Access (Cloudgenix), Firewalls, Panorama)

  • Proficiency in ITSM, monitoring and vulnerability management tools, specifically:

  • ServiceNow

  • Armis

  • Rapid7, Crowdstrike

  • Ability to relay technical information to a non-technical audience and effectively interact with all stakeholders including senior leadership.

  • A customer service mindset with the ability to optimize work, manage complexity and drive results.

  • Lift up to 50 lbs
